Sérgio Prata
Sculptor, drawer, painter and printer.

Prata was born in 1963 in São José dos Campos, Brazil. 
He traveled to Paris in 1981 after having won  first place in  the XV National Championship of Sand Sculpture organized by Air France in Guarujá, Brazil. 

He studied for five years at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts of Paris, where he developed his painting skills in different techniques; fresco painting and drawing of the human figure. His principal professors where Mr. Bernard Delamarche (fresco), Mr. Abraham Pincas (Painting Techniques) and Mr. Debord (Artistic Anatomie). 

His most expressive public works to date are the fresco paintings and murals of Trevizzo Castle, in Santa Felicidade and the ceramics of the Shopping Center Novo Batel, both in Curitiba, Brazil. He also painted five churches in the state of São Paulo. It was in these works that he innovated by adopting phosphorescent pigments.  

He has painted five major expositions: "Men and Gods" (large canvas), "Nude Muses" (nude), "See The White  Lilies Of The Countryside" (encaustic), "Contrasts" and "Fosforescências". Some of his works can be seen in these pages. 

His latest panels can be visited at Murals page. Prata teaches Painting Techniques, Composition and Anatomy For Artists. He is the author of the books "Painting Techniques" and "Anatomy For Artists". In addition Prata has released the  video "Painting Techniques" and the CD-Rom "Anatomy For Artists, Painting Tecniques and Composition."
